Our GGB production plant in Slovakia has been certified to the Occupational Health and Safety Management (OHSAS 18001) for health and safety management systems. The certification was awarded to GGB Slovakia s.r.o. by The Slovak Association for Quality and Management Systems, Ltd., an independent auditing body.

OHSAS 18000 is the world’s most recognized occupational health and safety management systems standard and an international benchmark. It was developed in response to widespread demand for a recognized standard against which to be certified and assessed. The OHSAS 18001 audit of GGB Slovakia revealed no deviations from the standard, but resulted in a number of recommendations that are now being implemented to further improve employee health and safety system.

A Testament to the GGB Values of Employee Safety

The plant in Sučany has also been selected as one of Slovakia’s 10 safest companies, winning the “Safe Enterprise” award based on the facility’s health and safety management system.

The assessment was based on the requirements of OHSAS 18001, while the primary criteria for the award were the facility’s health and safety management system and its level of achievement within the company. With the award comes the right to display the “Safe Enterprise” logo for five years.
