GGB Bearing Technology, formerly Glacier Garlock Bearings, now offers two new self-lubricating metallic bearing materials to offer advanced performance in today’s demanding operating conditions with minimal or no maintenance. The GGB-CSM® series is made of solid material, and the bimetal GGB-CBM® series features sliding layers sintered onto metallic backings.
GGB-CSM® series: Based on a range of alloys consisting of bronze, iron and nickel, and includes materials that are wear-resistant, thermal relaxed and thermal stabilized.
GGB-CBM® series: based on a range of bronze alloys, including lead-free offerings, with a choice of stainless, carbon, seawater-resistant steel and bronze backings.
Both materials have been designed for users with high loads, long idle times under static load and low sliding speeds, as well as in applications where customary lubrication is not possible. By providing a high load capacity, a broad temperature range and corrosion resistance, GGB-CSM® and GGB-CBM® bearing materials ensure increased reliability, longer durability and lower operating costs. In addition, they can be used to replace existing lubricated bearings.

The GGB-CSM® and GGB-CBM® materials are manufactured using a powder metallurgy process to produce a metallic matrix with homogeneously distributed solid lubricant (graphite,MoS2), to form a lubricant film with the bearings’ motion.
Bearings made of the GGB-CSM® and GGB-CBM® materials are available by special order to customer-supplied designs and drawings. With more than 100 years of experience and expertise in the field of self-lubricating plain bearings, GGB Bearing Technology offers customers a multitude of bearing materials, as well as comprehensive technical application knowledge.
