Design World featured GGB in a July 2017 article titled “The value of integrating partners early in the design process.” The article discusses how considering bearings early in the design process yields improvements in the final product, including lower weight, a smaller profile, fewer parts, increased strength and improved energy efficiency.
The article explains how GGB’s DP11 metal-polymer anti-friction plain bearings helped European automakers react to the European Union’s End of Life Vehicles Directive, passed in the early 2000s. The article also delves into GGB’s involvement in creating more compact designs for automotive air conditioning compressors, as well as being selected for a project to help upgrade landing gear for military and commercial planes.
In addition to DP11 plain bearings, the article prominently features GGB’s DU metal-polymer anti-friction plain bearings, DP31 metal-polymer self-lubricating bearings and DU-B metal-polymer bronze-backed PTFE plain bearings.
