GGB, an industry leader and innovator in tribology and surface engineering technologies, announces the launch of a new line of lead-free, machinable and customized tribological solutions. Designed for harsh operating conditions, the AuGlide® bearings feature a bimetal composition—steel backing and a bronze overlay—that earns RoHS compliance. They support high specific loads and offer superior performance under oscillating movements.
Among many uses for these bearings, AuGlide® solutions will most notably benefit transmissions and truck brakes as well as agricultural, mechanical handling and lifting applications. They boast a high load capacity and very good resistance to fatigue strength at high temperatures.
Production in heavy-duty industrial applications is growing, so now is the perfect time for us to offer customized environmentally friendly solutions that are up for that challenge. That's what we're offering with lead-free AuGlide®," said Patrick Blank, Global Business Development Manager at GGB. "Just because it's a big job, doesn't mean it has to be a big environmental impact."
Other key characteristics of AuGlide® include:
- Design freedom - customizable to meet specific indentation and shape needs
- Corrosion resistance
- Excellent fatigue strength under dynamic and shock load conditions
- Suitability for oil and grease lubrication
- Extra strength and rigidity with its steel backing
