In my opinion, GGB's global presence is a great advantage: an international network combined with a wide product range, outstanding R&D and excellent customer technical support.
A long-term GGB business partner, Kay has managed the family business since taking over from his father in 1990. His commercial agency Thran & Brennecke GmbH has been selling and distributing GGB products in northern Germany for over 30 years.
How did you begin your career as a sales agent?
After completing commercial training at a machinery manufacturer in northern Germany, I began my industrial engineering studies in Hamburg. I then spent several years in Berlin as a sales representative and in 1989 my father invited me to take over his commercial agency, which I have managed since 1990. Thran & Brennecke GmbH is a family business in active distribution in northern Germany for 50 years and has worked with GGB as a partner for over 30 years.
How did your partnership with GGB begin?
GGB Heilbronn was established in Heilbronn as a trade office. Mr Oexle, the owner of the company at that time, was looking for sales representatives and published an advertisement containing the keywords “bearing technology.” We were unsure whether it involved warehouse equipment or ball and roller bearings, but my father had the right idea and responded to the advertisement. He was invited to Heilbronn where he sealed our partnership and since then Thran & Brennecke has sold plain bearings with steadily growing success.
What do your main responsibilities consist of?
Personal and telephone support are part of my activities, together with technical consultation for GGB clients in northern Germany. This includes calls on clients and the acquisition of new customers.
What do you enjoy most about working with GGB?
I especially enjoy the reliability and cooperative partnership with GGB throughout this long period. Also, acquiring new clients or winning new projects with existing clients continues to be a very fulfilling part of my job.
What advantage does GGB offer over their competitors?
