GGB Slovakia recently received the “Safe Enterprise” award from country’s Ministry of Work, Social Affairs and Family. GGB Bearing Technology, formerly Glacier Garlock Bearings, opened the 9,000 m2 manufacturing facility in 1994 for the production of its metal-polymer bearings.
A government-sponsored competition now ranks GGB Slovakia as one of the nation’s 10 safest companies. The primary criteria for the award were the facility’s health and safety management system and its level of achievement within the company. The assessment was based on the requirements of OHSAS 18001, the international standard for occupational health and safety systems.
Along with the award, GGB Slovakia now has the right to display the “Safe Enterprise” logo for five years.
Safety is a core value and integral part of our culture at GGB, but more than statistics and awards, safety is both a personal and shared responsibility to look out for our own and others’ well being, both in the workplace and at home, as well as our firm belief that all accidents can be prevented.
