GGB sets pricing for solid-polymer line

GGB, formerly Glacier Garlock Bearings, has issued a standard part price list for its new EP™ series of solid-polymer bearings that is available in stock. These injection-molded bearings provide excellent wear resistance and low friction over a wide range of both dry and lubricated operating conditions.

Made of a variety of thermoplastic resins with the addition of solid lubricant and reinforcing fibers, they exhibit excellent dimensional stability, low coefficients of friction, high compressive strength and creep resistance, low thermal expansion and good thermal conductivity.

Pricing is provided for its various EP™, EP™22, EP™43 and EP™63 cylindrical and flanged bearings in standard dimensions and KA washers. Nylon- based EP delivers optimum performance under light-duty conditions in medical, scientific and office equipment and similar applications. PBT-based EP22™, offers a good price/ performance ratio in chemical, sports, office and other types of equipment. PS-based EP43™, provides high dimensional stability and very low friction in material handling equipment and apparatus engineering, for example. And PEEK-based EP63™, is a high-temperature material with high mechanical strength for applications such as electronics and agricultural machinery.

Prices also are provided for the company’s solid-polymer rod stock that can be machined into bearing prototypes and small, serial parts to customer specifications. Hence any serial production would be made out of the same material compound as the rods. Also available are acetal-based Glacetal KA™ washers for light-duty dry or lubricated conditions.
